Our Story
Our Story
Barrio Antiguo Designs was founded with a simple vision: to celebrate culture, craftsmanship, and the stories behind every handmade piece.
What began as a passion for design and artisan-made goods quickly became more than a retail shop—it became a place where people gathered to discover unique treasures, connect with local artists, and celebrate the beauty of Mexican and Latin American traditions through art, home décor, gifts, and custom furniture.
After eight years away, we are proud to return home to the Houston Heights.
Our new space at 803 W. 24th Street represents a new chapter while staying true to the heart of Barrio Antiguo Designs. Today, we are more than a boutique—we are a curated collective that supports local makers, artists, and small businesses by providing a space where creativity and entrepreneurship can flourish.
Every item in our shop is thoughtfully selected for its craftsmanship, originality, and story. Whether it’s handcrafted home décor, artisan jewelry, original artwork, custom furniture, books, or gifts, we believe every purchase supports a dream, preserves a tradition, and strengthens our community.
We are grateful to return to the neighborhood that embraced us from the very beginning. As we reconnect with our customers, we also look forward to supporting local schools, community events, and the talented makers who make Houston such a vibrant place to live.
Thank you for being part of our journey. Whether you’re visiting us for the first time or returning after many years, welcome home.
